Today I drove town to East Sussex to do a little caching. I wanted to tackle a series of 39 caches over 7 miles in the afternoon.
The countryside round here is stunning and well worth a visit.
The route started out on a disused railway line. It made the going easy. The caches seemed to come every 0.15 of a mile or so, almost felt too often.
After the railway it was up into beautiful fields and then into superb woodland.
About 3/4 of the way through was the only really tricky cache at a disused railway bridge over the river. On my own it was pretty scary trying to retrieve a cache dangling over the river on a bridge with no deck, just rusting iron girders.
The very next cache was just by the Anchor in and on a day as beautiful as today I stopped for a pint.
I didn’t find all the caches, just too many muggles out on this superb spring day. 29 logged I think.

Caching in East Sussex on a stunning March day. A Peroni as a reward.
